The Psychedelic Cube
When
Chad was younger, he discovered that something he thought was the product
of only his imagination had been constructed by a telepathic race thousands
of light years away - thousands of years earlier.
The Psychedelic Cube (as Chad refers to it) is a portal to a 'bubbled dimension'
able to shift through time and space. Shifting with what ever or whom ever
may be inside of it.
Chad may never have been to Europe or even back to the east coast of Canada
(to visit family). But while haphazardly piloting the cube, he experienced
2 possible futures of earth and survived a run-in with interdimensional
prison-escapees.
Chad finally put an end to his attempts at trying to use the cube as a means of transport. A much less dangerous harnessing of the cube's powers would prove more beneficial. He would eventually utilize the cube's abilities to further his artistic career.
But the cube's energies had become the focus of a covert investigation spanning the globe.
A collective of scientists and ex-government types seeking anomalies and alien technologies (to keep for themselves and their own political/moral agendas) had become very interested in the cube's 'all-in-one' interdimensional technologies.
The subsequent break-in and experimentation with the cube, while still in of Chad's warehouse-style dwelling lead to one final 'misadventure' to another planet… with one of the scientists (from the covert organization), a comic book loving Goth and a 3 ½' tall talking rabbit - who would later become a mainstay character in Chad's comic strips and graphic novels.
