In 1994 exposure was first and foremost on my mind when I approached the University of Calgary's newspaper with an addition to their comics section.
4 (nearly 5) years later The Thinking Man's Idiocies had spawned 3 T-shirt designs, a bunch of related artwork ('97 Frosh Week supplement), appearances in other strips by other artists and ofcourse a surprisingly large collection of comic strips.
Nearly 2 years after the strip had run it's good run...I was recognized while working in a coffee shop. My back turned (working an espresso machine no doubt) a voice asked, "You going to do more of those comic strips with the bunny?" I had to look down at myself, to see if I was wearing one of the TMI T-shirts, before answering.
Since then I've managed only the one TMI collection book (utilizing my employment at a downtown 24hr photocopy business). Nothing 'professional' published…yet.
